RYA Diesel Engine Course
Mechanical failure is the
main cause of lifeboat callouts to yachts and motor cruisers.
This
course is designed to give an awareness of the main systems of a marine diesel engine. It will enable you to take simple
measures to prevent mechanical breakdown and rectify defects which do not require workshop support.
The course is run over 1 day and a Yanmar Marine 1GM 6.5 diesel engine and other ancillary components are
available for you to have hands on practice changing fuel and oil filters, bleeding the fuel system and gain a knowledge
of basic engine electrics.
The course is run on a continual assessment basis and
upon successfull completion you will be issued with the RYA Diesel Engine Certicate.
Cost of this course is £70 and includes basic course materials.
